This is one of those simple and nice leather bench ottomans — sturdy and lean. I like it because it doesn’t take up a lot of space and it gives my front hallway a place to sit while I wait for my husband to bring the car out of the garage. I have bad knees and so don’t like to stand outside while he backs out the car. Anyway, it’s really nice leather, soft to the touch and just enough cushion to make it comfortable without sinking into it.
The leather on this bench is really nice and I like the double-stitch design…like a pair of jeans, but made of brown leather. The bench is a little low compared to rectangular ottomans, but it looks nice in my front hallway, and it’s a convenient place to stage my purse and briefcase every morning before I leave for work. And it’s a comfortable spot to sit and go over my to-do list for the day.
Talk about beauty in simplicity…this bench ottoman has both. But it didn’t look as good in front of the sofa as I thought it would. So I moved it to my bedroom and put it at the foot of the bed. It works very well there. I like the leather and the simple lines, and it’s a great place to lay out my clothes for the next working day. Now I just have to look at the other modern ottomans to decide what to do in the living room.
The leather is brown and the legs are black…that wasn’t obvious from the photo and I guess I missed it in the description. But, as luck would have it, I have a lot of black in my living room, too. So it turned out to be a fortuitous oversight. I’m still trying to convince my husband that it’s a good look. He likes the leather top and it is very comfortable, but he just isn’t sure about the legs. He’ll come around eventually.
I bought this to put in our bedroom at the foot of our bed. We have a rather masculine décor with just a few feminine touches and this fits both. The leather top makes him happy—and I have to admit that it is comfortable and elegant—while the sleek legs add that touch of femininity that suits my taste. It’s the best of both worlds and we couldn’t be happier with our purchase.
