Wooden chairs always make a nice addition to a living room that’s full of upholstery. I was raised with the idea that every living should have at least one, and this is the one for me. I needed a living room chair that my elderly mother could sit in and rise from easily. This Y chair is very comfortable for her and for the rest of us, and the price was terrific.
My husband knows that solid wood is important to me and this Wishbone Chair has it. It is a Claus Brown Wood Y Chair but it replicates the Hans Wegner Y Chair from the 1950’s. Hubby was a dear to search out this great chair for our foyer. We needed a place to sit in that area and this reproduction Hans J Wegner Wishbone Chair is perfect. It is sturdy and beautiful, and I couldn’t be happier with it.
The Carl Hansen Wishbone Chair was popular in the mid-twentieth century and, after receiving my reproduction chair from Interior Express, I can see why. The curves are stylishly modern and yet the natural wood finish is so traditional. I looked up the history of this chair and was surprised to learn the original was designed by Hans Wegner for Carl Hansen—two important names in furniture. Hans Wegner furniture was very popular and I’m proud to have a reproduction piece in my home.
I was browsing for chairs online two weeks ago when I came across this reproduction of the famous Wegner Wishbone chair. I immediately ordered four of them for my dining room. The natural wood finish matches my antique table perfectly, and the curves that are modeled on the Ch24 Wishbone Chair takes me back to my childhood and my Aunt Dottie’s kitchen. I couldn’t afford authentic Wegner chairs but these are just as wonderful.
My grandmother owned a Hans Wegner Wishbone Chair back in the fifties—she sometimes called it a Wegner CH24—don’t know why. I also don’t know what happened to that wonderful chair, but I’ve found one of my own. This reproduction Wegner Y Chair looks like the real thing—it’s made of quality wood and is so sturdy and lovely. I can hardly wait to sit in it every evening when I get home from work.
